Faced with the success of the BMW E36 Cabriolet, Audi could not stand idly by. Thus, at the Geneva Motor Show 1991, the brand presented an 80 in a convertible version from the concept of a discoverable car exhibited at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1989. The Audi Cabriolet was born! The strength of this model was to offer a leisure car with an elegant and refined design as well as many advantages in terms of comfort. The Audi took the opposite route of the BMW, which claimed to be more "raw". Here, performance was put in the back seat in order to offer a car more focused on high-end comfort.
