On 10 July 2003, Volkswagen de México began its last production run of the legendary VW Beetle in Puebla. And the last VW Beetle came off the production line on 30 July that year. Fifteen hundred vehicles were produced in the special "Última Edición" series in aqua blue with grey interiors and another 1500 were produced in harvest moon beige with black interiors. Two additional colour variants were produced for importers of the Mexican Beetle: the metallic finish "Omnicar Speedblue Metallic" (16 units) and "Omnicar Platinum Grey Metallic" (10 units). The VW Beetle 1600 Última Edición in "snap orange" is a custom example made especially for a former VW employee. Schuco presents this VW Beetle in the 1:18 scale. The models of Edition 1:18 are characterised by their true-to-life detail and opening doors and flaps, which allow a view of the perfectly reproduced interior.
